A New Kind of Party - A New Type of Activist

Typical activists in existing parties spend their time fundraising, delivering party leaflets, canvassing etc. They may also contribute to party policy, draft leaflets or be agents or candidates.

The new activist will spend time researching what government is really up to. He will look at government sites, committee reports, consult the specialist media, and ask questions of his MP or under the Freedom of Information Act. He will probably stick to areas he is interested in. He will feed this back to the party, which will have a mechanism for collating and analysing such information. The party will seek to identify not only what is going wrong but who is responsible. It will highlight excessive secrecy and duplicity.
