Global Context - Bargaining Power


Given her precarious position Britain needs to use every trick to increase its bargaining power. The fact that she is an Elective Dictatorship actually weakens her bargaining position. The German Chancellor can say to the Prime Minister, "Sorry Gordon, you know I would like to grant this concession but the Bundesrat would never wear it." The Prime Minister cannot reply in kind.
